Johann Lepp's Mansion

просп. Соборний, 8, Запоріжжя

The owner of the mansion was Johann Lepp, the eldest grandson of Peter Lepp, a manufacturer of agricultural machinery, owner of the Lepp and Vallmann company. Johann managed the company until 1918 and was not only a successful industrialist and patron but also a member of the construction commission of the Oleksandrivsk city council and an honorary citizen of the city.

The Bolsheviks finally closed down the Lepp, Valman and Copp concern. Johann Lepp and his family emigrated to Prussia. In 1920, their factories were nationalized.

The mansion combines features of different architectural styles in its design, including brick, German Jugendstil, and one of the trends of Art Nouveau. In addition to living rooms, bedrooms, and a kitchen, the house had storage rooms, a laundry room, and premises for engineering equipment. There were convenient internal stairs leading to the basement. The owner's great pride was a tiled fireplace.

The mansion is a monument of architecture and urban planning.
