In 1889, the municipal government of Oleksandrivsk made a decision to build a Jewish vocational school. The work was completed in 1904, and the school was supported by public principles, private donations, and the assistance of the city administration. The school had 55 male students and an evening female school with 85 students.
In 1914, the supervisory board of the Jewish public school "Talmud-Torah" appealed to the municipal government to construct a vocational school at the corner of Hoholivska and Dniprovska streets. Children from poor Jewish families were to learn trades there for free. The project was carried out by engineer Hryhorii Katsyn, the author of many other projects in the city.
Today, the interiors of the building no longer have original details, but the staircase remains a witness to the original design. It has rounded stairs, which is characteristic of late Art Nouveau. Overall, the architecture of the building represents the Art Nouveau style in a Neo-Romanesque execution.
